My drum kit at the moment

Lots of wires.

That’s a:

– Roland SPD-30 Octapad with Roland APC-33 clamp to get it onto the standard cymbal stand

– Roland KD-9 kick pad

– Gibraltar double-kick pedal

– Meinl drum bag thing

– Mackie 402-VLZ3 mini mixer

– Zoom H1 recorder

– Some kind of Dixon percussion table with a TAMA clamp thing.

I’ve also got a Roland V-Drums mat but left it in Joburg.

This is a work in progress setup, the mixer’s so I can hear the band mix, drum mix as well as click track through my Shure 215 in-ear monitors and control the volume of each mix myself. The mini-mixer and percussion table are new additions so gonna see how it all works. The Octapad is pretty awesome though. Had it for a while. Was concerned about not being able to upload samples to it, but have managed to mess around with the included sounds (there’s a lot) and have made some decent custom kits, so, I’m using it for its intended use and the pads play really well, they’re nice and responsive and sensitive.
