I’m thrilled to announce the follow-up to Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 – Get da MILK! In this comedy point-and-click adventure, Bru is tasked with getting SUGAR for his coffee, but someone or something is stealing all of Earth’s sugar. It’s up to YOU to figure out what the big conspiracy is, save Earth, and with any luck, get some SUGAR for your coffee.
The adventure takes Bru all over the place – more locations in KiffTown and beyond, and he even goes to space. Wild.

The background
Unbeknownst to most, I’ve been beavering away at the second game, which follows directly from Episode 1. I wanted to get the Steam page ready so people can Wishlist the game and capitalize on any interest from when the Episode 1 demo and game launch – I didn’t want to be scrambling later! As a result, I’ve written most of the story for Ep2 and figured out many of the required locations. Once I’ve got Episode 1 ready for Steam, I plan to work up a demo for Episode 2 for launch on itch and then Steam.





Locations & Art Process
Since Steam requires at least 5 images for its page, and I didn’t want to work on anything that wouldn’t be in the game, it prompted me to plan the entire game out in a Game Design Doc and parse what ‘rooms’ would be required. A bit of frontloading, but good forward planning helped.
This time, instead of going straight to digital, I drew the backgrounds on paper first and scanned them in. Drawing with pencil on paper provided a certain looseness I needed for this project and let me experiment with ideas that digital somehow doesn’t allow for. I quite like this analog approach – it was a nice way to keep adding, refining, and testing ideas before diving into the digital aspect. I demonstrate the process in the video below.
I drew these backgrounds at 4k (versus 1080p for the original game). Because of the higher resolution, they took longer as there are essentially more pixels to work with. I may end up shrinking them down to 1080p anyway for performance – the first game worked well at that resolution.
